New York Public Adjuster Pre-Licensing
This New York Department of Financial Services (DFS)-approved course satisfies the 40-hour pre-licensing education requirement needed to apply for a New York public adjuster license. Before you can register for the state licensing exam, New York requires all applicants to successfully complete an approved pre-licensing course. At the end of the course, you'll take a 60-question multiple-choice final exam, and a score of 70% or higher is required to pass and earn your certificate of completion. To give yourself the best chance of passing the New York licensing exam on your first attempt, we recommend consistently scoring 90% or higher on the included quizzes and practice exams before scheduling your state exam.

How do i get my public adjuster license?
New York
- Prepare for the exam using our New York approved Public Adjuster pre-licensing course
- Pass the NY Public Adjuster Exam Series 17-62 administered by PSI
- Complete fingerprinting
- Apply for the license using NY LINX
Upload the following documents with the online application:
- Complete Bond, including Acknowledgements and Power of Attorney form
- Certificates of Character
- Signed IdentoGO pre-enrollment confirmation/receipt

- Prepare for the exam using our Public Adjuster Exam Prep course
- Apply for license on NIPR (before taking exam)
- Pass the NC Public Adjuster administered by PearsonVue
- Secure a $20,000 surety bond or letter of credit

Do I need the NY pre-licensing course or the exam prep course?
If you are trying to get licensed in New York, then you need the New York Public Adjuster Pre-licensing course. Taking an approved course like ours is required before you can take the state exam.
If you are trying to get licensed in Colorado, Iowa, Oklahoma, North Carolina, or Washington, which do not have pre-licensing requirements, then you need our exam prep course. While it isn't required like pre-licensing, it will prepare you to pass those states' public adjuster exams.
